Bradfords Millennium Way

Spanning 45 miles of the countryside surrounding the city of Bradford, the Millennium Way is a brand new long distance walk, created by volunteers from Bradford's Countryside Service. Below is a map depicting the outline of the route.

The official starting and finishing point of the Millennium Way is Bracken Hall, Baildon. Just opposite the hall stands the Millennium Way Stone, the official landmark of the start and finish of the route.

Of course, it takes more than just an idea to create a long distance walk. The Millennium Way team were faced with many potential obstacles, but with a substantial financial grant from BEAT (the Bradford Environmental Action Trust) and massive help from the Bradford Countryside Service, who provided materials and expertise, the workload was softened. Metal tags for some of the route marking were kindly donated by local business NSF Controls.

The actual sweat and toil of the route marking was down to a dedicated team of volunteers from Bradford's Countryside Service. Below is a selection of photographs, taken whilst the route marking was being carried out.
